The Wheel of the Year selected as a 2025 Illinois Reads book!
The mission of the Illinois Reading Council is to provide support and leadership to all who promote and teach lifelong literacy. The thirty-six titles chosen, from birth to adult, will be introduced into classrooms, public health facilities, public and school libraries, and bookstores.
Throughout the coming year, we will have several events to celebrate the program. The first event is an Illinois Reads Sneak Peek in Downers Grove on December 5th, 2024. There is the Illinois Reading Council’s annual conference in Springfield, Illinois, March 14-15, 2025. Then there is the Illinois Reads Book Festival in Jacksonville, Illinois on April 26, 2025. There may be other events, such as the Illinois State Fair in Springfield, Illinois from August 7-17, 2025, and STEM Fest at Northern Illinois University in the Fall.

THE WHEEL OF THE YEAR has been nominated for the Garden State Teen Book Awards Nonfiction Grades 6-12! The Garden State Teen Book Award is a project of the Young Adult Section of the New Jersey Library Association. If you’re a New Jersey teen, you can vote here! Thanks for your consideration!

The Wheel of the Year recognized by the Blueberry Awards in the Educators’ Resources category!
Organized by Evanston Public Library library assistant Martha Meyer, the Blueberry Awards spotlight age-appropriate children’s books about the environment and climate change that don’t spread climate anxiety.
